The FRP iRacing Challenge Presented by Hoosier Tires Takes on Lime Rock Park Tonight

April 15, 2020

“From idea to conception in less than one week”

April 15, 2020 – Competitors representing Formula Race Promotions (FRP) will return to racing virtually via the popular iRacing platform. Headlined by Hoosier Racing Tires – a long time supporter and official tire brand of FRP – the FRP iRacing Challenge Presented by Hoosier Racing Tires will combine drivers, and even mechanics, from all ranks of FRP participants in an all-out battle on track while continuing to practice social distancing.

What was only an idea less than aweek ago of having a grid of 20+ cars, the first ever round of the FRP iRacingChallenge will take place tonight – at 7:00pm EDT - at the famous Lime RockPark. In an extraordinary display of teamwork by all involved to get the concept to a program, the first ever Formula Race Promotions will be broadcastlive by Apex Racing TV as series competitors look to battle their way to the top step of the virtual podium.

“A huge thanks to F1600 and Team Pelfrey driver Max Esterson, FRP Series Administrator Clay Hutchison, Samuel Pawlak from Ikoniqa, Mike Maurini from RTD Media and all involved,” expressedBob Wright. “When the guys approached me about doing a series virtually, I have to admit that my hands were a bit tied. I have learned a lot in the past six days but there are several people beyond me that made this possible. I just tried to keep up with the emails and chime in where I could.”

Utilizing the Skip Barber car within the iRacing program, the three event, six race series will be free to enter for FRP competitors and take place on three consecutive Wednesdays beginning tonight, April 15, 2020 beginning at 7:00pm EDT. Featuring three tracks that will be fun to both drive, and watch, each race event will feature a practice, qualifying and two races that will be live streamed viaApexRacingTV as well as feature championship prizes that can be applied towards2020 season competition.

“We have had several people step up and offer to help out,” added FRP Series Administrator Clay Hutchison. “GregRice from Rice Race Prep has put together a contingency program for all drivers who enter the event in a Rice Racing branded machine and RTD Media is offering a three pack of media releases for the Hard Charger as defined to the competitor who gains the most positions across the combined three rounds. We are looking to add additional prize packages that we will communicate as they become confirmed.”
